Just when things were starting to swing back in our direction Victoria’s Secret model Hilary Rhoda and former NHL player Sean Avery have announced that they are engaged. Bet he had a good time at (and after) last night’s filming of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

The former NHL star and his model girlfriend of three years, Hilary Rhoda, “are very happy to announce our engagement,” the couple tells PEOPLE exclusively.
“We are excited to plan the most beautiful and fun wedding that we could ever imagine,” they also said.
They say they’re not getting married until next year and they do have a history of being kind of off-and-on for the past three years so we still have hope, guys, but as it stands we’re about to lose Rhoda, 26, a three-time Sports Illustrated swimsuit model to a 33 year-old retired hockey player.
