Last week, we brought you the news of a University of Nebraska Omaha sorority girl named Shannon Workman who was kicked out of her sisterhood for wearing a Chi Omega tank top in her Tinder picture (pictured above).
This was a DISGUSTING violation of Chi Omega’s “Human Dignity” rule–stating that sisters would not post photos wearing their letters on any platform that would bring “disrespect to the chapter.”
“[The Chi Omega official] said pictures that are promiscuous or risqué in nature require a personnel meeting,” Workman told Good Morning America. “I was so humiliated.”
After being called into a “disciplinary meeting,” Workman secretly recorded the trial, capturing sorority officials calling the act “disrespectful” and requesting a “membership revocation.”
She, like any rational human being, essentially told the chapter to fuck off, she out.
Tinder got wind of the news and reached out to Workman to offer her a full year’s scholarship to cover her final year of school, according to Yahoo News.
Tinder co-founder and CEO Sean Rad told Buzzfeed,
“We think what Shannon did sends a very empowering message to young women and college students, which is actually one of Tinder’s largest audiences. Don’t conform, don’t let people tell you your beliefs are wrong just because it’s not the same as their beliefs.”
On top of the full year’s scholarship, Tinder offered Workman a paid internship with them.

While Workman has yet to respond to Tinder’s employment opportunity, she expressed her gratitude with the good deed.
“I do stand up for Tinder because I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. Some people use it for hookups but I don’t, and a lot of great things happen through Tinder.”
