Antonio Brown ‘Initiated’ The Altercation With Mike Mayock, Reportedly Called Him A ‘Cracker’

Following Wednesday’s reported scrap between Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown and general manager Mike Mayock, details about the altercation have slowly but surely begun to make their way onto the internet.

Yesterday, after news broke that the Raiders were reportedly considering suspending Brown, it was revealed that none other than frequent rule-breaking linebacker Vontaze Burfict had to restrain Brown from going at Mayock, who he threatened to “hit in the face.”

Now, as the relationship between Brown and the Raiders seems to be coming to a final boiling point, a source has told ESPN that it was, of course, Brown who started the altercation with Mayock, where he not only threatened to “hit him”, but called him a “cracker” and “unleashed a barrage of cuss words.”

A Raiders source confirmed Brown was unhappy with the fine levied by the team and, seeing Mayock watching practice, walked over and initiated an exchange with the GM. The Raiders source confirmed information from another league source who said Brown called Mayock a “cracker” and unleashed a barrage of “cuss words” during the altercation.

The team source said Mayock tried to keep his cool and defuse the situation.

“[Mayock] was like, ‘I’m cool, I understand your displeasure,'” the source said. “[Mayock] sort of just like … just walked away because he saw it escalate.” [ESPN]

Considering how drastically the Antonio Brown situation has escalated, it seems as though it is only a matter of time before the two parties decide to part ways.

Despite the fact that Brown has arguably been the best wide receiver in the NFL for the last five or so seasons, at this time, it’s tough to imagine any of the league’s teams bringing the wildly unpredictable wideout on board, as his recent actions over the last 12 months have become so extreme that some people — including NFL Network’s Rich Eisen — have begun to question his mental state.

UPDATE: Brown is playing Monday night, because of course he is.
