Here’s a news flash for you. Apparently there are a lot of people out there washing and reusing their condoms. How do we know this? Because the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) tweeted out a reminder for everyone to not do that. Why? Because, as they put it in their tweet, “We say it because people do it.” Sigh…
“Don’t wash or reuse #condoms! Use a fresh one for each #sex act,” tweeted the CDC STD Twitter account.
We say it because people do it: Don't wash or reuse #condoms! Use a fresh one for each #sex act. https://t.co/o3SPayRf9m pic.twitter.com/AwkPqE9YMl

Fair warning: don’t click on those hashtags. Because if your reaction to that tweet was something along the lines of, “eww,” there’s more where that came from at those hashtags.
Also, if your reaction was, “eww,” you are far from alone.

Yes. Again, people do this, completely ignoring the CDC website’s list of dos and don’ts.
• DO use a condom every time you have sex.
• DO put on a condom before having sex.
• DO read the package and check the expiration date.
• DO make sure there are no tears or defects.
• DO store condoms in a cool, dry place.
• DO use latex or polyurethane condoms.
• DO use water-based or silicone-based lubricant to prevent breakage.
• DON’T store condoms in your wallet as heat and friction can damage them.
• DON’T use nonoxynol-9 (a spermicide), as this can cause irritation.
• DON’T use oil-based products like baby oil, lotion, petroleum jelly, or cooking oil because they will cause the condom to break.
• DON’T use more than one condom at a time.
• DON’T reuse a condom.

I’m just upset that this is something that people needed to be told.

What if I wipe it down really well with a thin napkin?

Never change, internet. Never change. Also, stop reusing condoms. Visit this website instead. Please.
