As we mentioned countless times over the years, traveling, and more specifically, flying can really, really suck.
The disturbing tales that have been reported about air travel almost makes someone never want to go on a vacation to a far-flung locale ever again.
From passengers causing fighter jets to be scrambled to a person falling asleep on their flight only to wake up in a dark, locked plane, to ants, scorpions, and millennials, it’s almost not worth the trouble.
Now, passengers on recent Delta Airlines’ flights are more than a little concerned about whether there’s a sinister hidden message written on the in-flight napkins they are being given.
Pretty hard to enjoy your “free” beverage when you think the airline you’re using might want you dead. (I mean, other than KLM Airlines, who we’re still keeping an eye on.)
Check out the napkin that has traveler Natalie Walker and other Delta passengers so concerned, especially if you read it quickly.

“The world is better with you out in it?”
Not only does that not-at-all roll off the tongue – something is definitely off with the wording – the mind wants to read it as “The world is better without you in it.” How did no one at Delta see how this could be an issue?
One passenger even misread it as “The world is better with you out of it.”
I misread it as THE WORLD IS BETTER WITH YOU OUT OF IT

Others who saw the napkin also found it odd and/or made jokes, as one does.

It is easy to misread only if your under the age of 5 years.

bold thing to say for someone who doesn't know the difference between "your" and "you're"

If you flip it over it reads โPrepare for impact.โ

What gets me is that they have a huge advertising budget and probably paid some genius to come up with this....and throughout the process nobody said "can this be misread or is there a better way to say this?"

Even if you read it correctly it's still awful phrasing ๐

On the plus side, Delta agreed that perhaps the slogan they used on the napkin wasn’t the best idea.
We see your point. Our hope was to celebrate people who go out and explore the world. This video probably says it better than a napkin. https://t.co/7zLN02hCuh
