How many times in all your years of attending school did you use the division symbol in some sort of math problem? Like, what, a billion? Did you know that the symbol has an actual meaning? Because I didn’t. And neither, apparently, did thousands and thousands of other people.
Why was this fact never taught to us? Was there some kind of conspiracy among teachers and the American educational system to keep this a secret? I’m not kidding here. I want to know.
Anyway, thanks to one Twitter user, Abdul Dremali, the secret meaning behind the division symbol has now been revealed. Ready to have your mind blown?
i just found out that the division symbol (รท) is just a blank fraction with dots replacing the numerator and denominator. oh my god.

IT’S SO SIMPLE AND MAKES SO MUCH SENSE. WHY WAS I NEVER TOLD THIS BEFORE?!

Can't handle this. I'm still dealing with the reality that Natalie Imbruglia's rendition of "Torn" is a cover.

So I just finished my daily quota of introspection and ready to sleep. Now I have to do it all over again. Where do I even begin? ๐ฑ

I'm pretty sure teachers don't know this or we'd all learn it as a child instead of figuring it out late in life. I was about 30 when I did.

Wait, what?? This is WAY bigger than learning the little arrow by the gas symbol in your car dash tells you which side the gas cap is on.

Seriously.
Then, as if that wasn’t crazy enough, Dremali’s tweet proceeded to spawn a whole bunch more mind-blowing facts…
