A24
Maybe you haven’t heard by now, but Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage is all the way back.
Now that we have a couple of years of evidence, there’s simply no denying the fact that the 59-year-old Cage has, at long last, dug himself out of the video-on-demand hell he found himself in for about a decade and has returned to Hollywood’s A-list thanks to his performances in films such as Pig, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and Renfield.
Cage’s latest project, Dream Scenario, looks sure to continue that trend of hits for the former Oscar winner, as it was produced by A24, which is arguably the shrewdest studio in Hollywood these days (their Best Picture win for Everything Everywhere All At Once
The film, which has been described as a comedic take on A Nightmare on Elm Street, features Cage as a mediocre professor who suddenly becomes an overnight celebrity after he starts appearing in peoples’ dreams.
Check out the first trailer for Dream Scenario, which also stars Julianne Nicholson, Michael Cera, Tim Meadows, Dylan Gelula, and Dylan Baker, below.
Dream Scenario is just one of a handful of projects that Cage will be starring in this Fall. His most recent movie, The Retirement Plan, quietly hit a select few theaters last week. Then, in November, he’ll also be starring in the Western film Butcher’s Crossing, which will see him rocking a completely shaved head for the first time in his career.
The film is directed by Kristoffer Borgli and produced by Ari Aster, the filmmaker behind projects such as Hereditary, Midsommar, and Beau Is Afraid.
In the coming years, Cage is attached to star in projects such as Arcadian, Longlegs, and a sequel to his 2005 film Lord of War alongside Bill Skarsgard.
We had a chance to interview Nicolas Cage back in the spring of 2022, so make sure to check that out below, as well.
Dream Scenario hits movie theaters in the United States on Friday, November 10.
