Late last week, Ant-Man and LOST star Evangeline Lilly revealed to the world that she’s an aggressive dumbass, as she made the wild claim that she will not be observing self-quarantine because “some people value freedom over their lives.” Truth be told, it’s almost impressive how wildly misguided and selfish that statement is.
“I am also immune compromised at the moment,” Lilly wrote on social media. “I have two young kids. Some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over their lives. We all make our choices.”
Yikes, I know. Considering I’m BroBible’s resident movie guy, my first thought after reading her comments were: “Wow — that is a *bold* claim from someone who’s cutting those sweeeeeet Disney checks for her work as The Wasp in the Ant-Man franchise.”
And as it turns out, my gut reaction was correct, as there are now rumors that the plot of Ant-Man 3 is being reworked to reduce Lilly’s role. SHOCKING.
Our sources – the same ones who said a She-Hulk show is coming to Disney Plus and Transformers is being rebooted, both of which ended up being correct – are telling us that Marvel has decided to severely minimize her involvement in the plot. We’re hearing that the original story would have seen Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang and Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp as co-leads on a James Bond-style globetrotting adventure.
That story is now reportedly being reworked though to focus more on the relationship between Lang and his daughter Cassie. As we saw in Avengers: Endgame, she’s now a teenager played by Emma Fuhrmann and the film will apparently see her becoming Stature – a superhero in her own right. We’ll watch as Lang mentors her and helps her out and while Lilly’s Wasp will still appear in the film, it’ll be in more of a supporting role. [via We Got This Covered]
Now, to be clear, this is merely speculation at this point. That said, though, we all know the way that Disney operates and having someone on their payroll spouting ignorance about a dealy pandemic does not seem like something that The Mouse House will tolerate.
