As a result of the sharp increase in Covid-19 cases, several cities/counties in the state are scrambling to enact mask mandates to help slow the spread of the virus.
On Friday the St. Lucie County Commission held a special meeting to discuss a proposed mandate that would require face coverings be worn to slow the spread of COVID-19 in public spaces where other “social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.”
During the city council meeting, several citizens voiced their concerns against the mandate including one man who yelled at county commissioners because he didn’t want to be “muzzled like a dog”.
