When I was a kid, I wanted nothing more than to live in a world where an eccentric chocolatier hid golden tickets in his candy bars and gave children the chance to experience the ultimate utopia.
Unfortunately, Willy Wonka’s factory doesn’t exist in real life and even if it did it would have been shut down immediately by OSHA based on how many children fell victim to horrible industrial accidents in a single day (not to mention the fact that he built an empire on the back of exploited orange little people).
Thankfully, there’s one Canadian company that’s channeling the spirit of the candyman and searching for some lucky souls who are willing to take on the arduous task of getting paid to smoke weed.
In the past few months alone, we’ve highlighted a number of jobs that will make you want to quit yours, whether we’re talking about getting paid to eat pizza or becoming a professional binge-watcher.
Both of those jobs would pair quite well with the one currently being offered by AHLOT, a Toronto-based cannabis company that’s currently looking for people who are down to get paid $50 an hour to consume marijuana products.
Earn $50/hr. to evaluate the best that Canada’s growers have to offer. Must be of legal age to apply.https://t.co/U83PvBOdFL pic.twitter.com/4yGDy2mxEE

Someone in their marketing department deserves a raise.
AHLOT is in search of people to form a Cannabis Curation Committee, whose members will be tasked with consistently sampling different strains and providing feedback (they’ll be compensated $50 an hour for their troubles).
The best part? You don’t have to quit your day job (assuming they don’t drug test) as you’ll only have to commit up to three hours a week to sampling the goods.
If you’re interested (and why wouldn’t you be?), you have until October 17 to apply for the position.
Unfortunately, you have to be a Canadian citizen to qualify for the job, so I guess it’s time to follow in the footsteps of Sandra Bullock in The Proposal and find my own Ryan Reynolds in the Great White North.
