Google Held A CLIMATE CHANGE Conference Attended By The Rich And Famous… Who Arrived In 114 PRIVATE JETS And A Fleet Of Super Yachts

I usually don’t have much bad to say about celebrities. They are who they are. They live in a completely different world than the rest of us regular people. So nothing they do really surprised me at this point.

HOWEVER… there are rare occasions where they do something so stupid I can’t help but call them out for it.

Even rarer is when celebrities do something stupid en masse, such as what took place at this week’s Google-sponsored climate change conference.

The annual top-secret Google Camp, which the New York Post reports will cost Google around $20 million, is playing host to more than 200 of the world’s rich and famous at a resort in Sicily.

These 200-plus guests were reportedly hand-picked and personally invited by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin and include noted climate change advocates such as former President Barack Obama, Prince Harry, Leonardo DiCaprio, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Priyanka Chopra, and Harry Styles.

“Everything is about global warming, that is the major topic this year,” a source told The Post.

Meanwhile, the conference’s attendees showed up in 114 private jets and a flotilla of super yachts, according to Italian press.

So much for reducing their carbon footprint. Many of the guests also arrive to the conference via helicopter.

The Post crunched the numbers and found that 114 first class seats from Los Angeles to Palermo, Italy, where Camp guests landed, would spew an estimated 784,000 kilograms of CO2 into the air.

“Google Camp is meant to be a place where influential people get together to discuss how to make the world better,” one regular attendee told The Post.

“There will likely be discussions about online privacy, politics, human rights, and of course, the environment, which makes it highly ironic that this event requires 114 private jets to happen,” they said.
