A Florida woman issued a PSA about how to tell if a guy is a player. Some of the items on her list might surprise you.

Brynn Baker (@brynnmariebaker), a college cheerleader-turned social media influencer, posted a video with her list of questionable traits on July 19. Her video has gone pretty viral, amassing over 760,000 views and striking a chord among female viewers. “Here’s my list on how to tell if a man is [a player],” she says to start the video.

In the caption, she writes, “This only pertains to men. Sorry. I don’t make the rules.”

Run Club And Texting Style

“First and foremost,” Baker says. “If he’s a part of a run club.” And why is that? “You’re naked. You’re sweaty. Your pheromones are going.”

Next up is texting with his caps lock off. “If he sends you a text and the first letter of the text is lowercase—he has his caps lock off,” Baker explains. Apparently, this doesn’t warrant any further explanation.

Verified On Social Media And Involvement In College Athletics

“If he has a blue checkmark on any social media platform,” Baker says.

Why?

“Because I’m also pretty sure that like bypasses message requests,” she says. “They go right into the DM.”

And Baker means business. “Any college athlete,” she says. “Current. Former. Pre. Anything to do with college athletics.”

Mustache Or City Ball Cap Wearers

“If he has a fat, thick upper mustache?” Baker says. “Don’t trust him.”

She wraps up her list with city baseball cap wearers. “And, last but not least, if he wears a hat with an upside-down curved city,” Baker says. “I.E., Tampa, Houston, Boston, etc.”

She recommends other women avoid letting their guard down around these gentlemen.

Do Other Women Agree?

In the comments section, women weighed in with their opinions on Baker’s list.

“Caps lock off is so VALID,” wrote one woman.

“Run club instantly took me out,” a second woman agreed.

“The fact that all of these are true,” wrote a third (weary) woman.

Other women jumped in with their own additions to the list. “Adjacent to runners, may I mention climbers?” said one.

Someone else offered, “He has Snapchat.”

Another woman said, “If he takes social media seriously.”

Other Red Flags

Simply Psychology recommends keeping an eye on men who display communication or emotional issues and those who place an inordinate amount of emphasis on physical relationships early on in the relationship. Other warning signs include manipulation, crossing boundaries, and secretive behavior.

And how do you deal with a person like that? Well, you’ll have to be firm with your boundaries and carefully manage your expectations. If all else fails, be willing to walk away.
