So… did you hear? IHOP is changing its name to IHOB. No, the B does not stand for “breakfast” as most people guessed. In fact, pretty much no one guessed correctly that the B would in reality stand for, wait for it… burgers. I know, right? What are they thinking?

Ah yes. Now I get it. Do something stupid and get the internet all riled up about it and then rake in all of the free (bad) publicity.

If that was their actual plan, it is certainly working because IHOP is getting broasted by the internet (get it? never mind) for changing their name to IHOB, but the most wicked burn has to go to Wendy’s never shy and always sharp-witted social media account.
Dear Internet, we abbreciate your batience. Now let’s see who guessed right. B-hold!!!!! #IHOb pic.twitter.com/Fh3SkZ7s3Y

Not really afraid of the burgers from a place that decided pancakes were too hard.

Wendy’s wasn’t done though, because Wendy’s Twitter account is gangster like that.
Remember when you were like 7 and thought changing your name to Thunder BearSword would be super cool?
Like that, but our cheeseburgers are still better.— Wendy’s (@Wendys) June 11, 2018
We don’t want any beef with you, we just want to share our beef with the world
— IHOP (@IHOP) June 11, 2018
Welcome to the neighborhood 😉

Of course Wendy’s wasn’t the only Twitter account to go in on IHOB.
We have a big announcement. 👀 pic.twitter.com/zDIiBag48r

Inspired by the International House of Burgers announcement, we are also changing our name (Please do not ask what it means — we don’t know either.) pic.twitter.com/0HPQtQirHn

As much as we love our pancakes, we'd never change our name to Whatapancake
— Whataburger® (@Whataburger) June 11, 2018
.@IHOb A replica by definition cannot be as good as the original. The original #Steakburger was created by Steak ‘n Shake in 1934.

We've worked really hard for like 100 years to get people to remember our brand name so if it's cool with everyone we're just going to stick with MoonPie thank you
— MoonPie (@MoonPie) June 11, 2018
IHOb is the guy who gets a face tattoo of the girl’s name after 1 date

Hey IHOB, we don't care what you call yourselves. We're not here for the clever names, we're here because Denny's kicked us out for being drunk.

Even NASA weighed in because, 2018.

No need to worry. The bancakes aren't going anywhere!
— IHOP (@IHOP) June 11, 2018
Just…stop.
