Well, here’s a new one. According to new legislation that went into effect at 11.30 a.m. on Monday, it is now illegal in England for anyone to have sleep with with someone who doesn’t live in the same household during the current lockdown.
According to an amendment to the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Bill, “No person may participate in a gathering which takes place in a public or private place indoors, and consists of two or more persons.”
Afraid to say this is correct.
I can't believe I'm about to tweet this.
From tomorrow sex between two (or more) people in a private place who do not live in the same household is a "gathering" between 2 or more people and is therefore illegal. https://t.co/aEiGIoweee pic.twitter.com/b0KZBACSQ4

The new amendment also states, “There is a gathering when two or more people are present together in the same place in order to engage in any form of social interaction with each other, or to undertake any other activity with each other.”
Yahoo! Finance reports…
Previously, going to another person’s home to have sex would have been a breach of coronavirus lockdown restrictions, but now both parties could technically be prosecuted under the law. Having sex in public is already illegal.
Only those with a “reasonable excuse” are permitted to meet in a private place.
This includes elite athletes, those attending a funeral, those caring for a vulnerable person and people who need childcare.
The amended bill reads: “No person may, without reasonable excuse, stay overnight at any place other than the place where they are living.”
Sooo… elite athletes can still go have sex at someone’s house, or have someone over to their house for sex? And sex between a couple who don’t live together is against the law? Am I reading all of that correctly?
As I read this, unless you live together, it’s now unlawful to have sex with your lover indoors, but fine outdoors (subject to public decency offences); but you can have sex with an escort indoors, as that is reasonably necessary for their work purposes (see 7(d)(i)). https://t.co/QXbT1EYikt

I’ll confess, I did not have Boris Johnson down as the Prime Minister most likely to explicitly criminalise sex between consenting adults. https://t.co/cHCncvnfFU

Indoors, I should add. The government is happy for you to have sex with up to 5 other people in your garden https://t.co/XrG27Fv9Kg

I’ll be darned, but he’s right. Kind of…
England’s prime minister Boris Johnson also announced that groups of six people from different households will be now able to meet outdoors, provided they maintain social distancing. So, no touching!
