Jake Paul, undefeated in five professional boxing matches (against a YouTuber, a former NBA player, and two former mixed martial artists), may have finally taken his first loss.
While promoting his “Most Valuable Boxer” belt prior to his rematch with Tyron Woodley, Paul was shown wearing what appears to be a $400,000 Richard Mille “Bubba Watson” RM 055 watch.
“My ‘Most Valuable Boxer’ belt designed and painted by @alecmonopoly is my $500k Christmas present,” Paul wrote on Instagram. “Thanks to the kind hearted CEO of @mostvaluablepromotions for the belt. It’s hand painted by one of the greatest artists of our generation and features a Hermes Birkin bag sewed into the side as well as a diamond Cartier and Rolex watch.”
Naturally, with the belt being accessorized with a diamond Cartier watch and a Rolex, watch aficionados were interested in having a look. What they saw had them in stitches.
“So unnecessary… (To the top right is how a Richard Mille ‘Bubba Watson’ RM055, with a market price of $420,000.00 USD ACTUALLY lookes [sic] like),” wrote watch-focused Instagram account Superwatchman.
Popular Instagram account FakeWatchBuster concurred, writing, “that’s a fake Richard Mille RM055 Bubba Watson white ceramic.”
High Snobiety reports, “According to both sleuths, the strap screws are positioned too close to each other and the case is far too thick to be an authentic RM 055. A genuine ‘Bubba Watson’ — originally designed for its namesake, pro golfer Bubba Watson — is made of ceramic, while Paul’s appears to be plastic.
“It’s unclear where, exactly, Paul bought the possibly fake timepiece. And, unsurprisingly, the influencer has remained mum on the Frankensteinian accessory.”

Commenters on Instagram also wondered about Jake Paul’s Richard Mille watch
“Why u wearing a fake watch?” one person asked on Paul’s Instagram post prior to his fight with Woodley.
“Fake watch tho…” someone else commented.
“All that and can’t even get a real watch ur a clown,” another wrote.
“$500k on a belt but u got finessed with a fake watch,” read another comment.
For what it’s worth, a non-ceramic fake Richard Mille “Bubba Watson” RM 055 watch goes for around $360.
