Kanye West made a big announcement on the 4th of July.

On Saturday night, Kanye took to Twitter to tell the world that he was going to run for President of the United States during the upcoming 2020 election.

Immediately after Kanye’s announcement, tech guru Elon Musk gave Ye his endorsement.

This isn’t the first time Kanye has flirted with politics. Back in November, the rapper/fashion mogul teased his presidential run during Fast Company’s Innovation Festival.

“When I run for President in 2024,” West began, interrupted by an outbreak of laughter in the audience. “What y’all laughing at? We would create so many jobs! I’m not going to run, I’m going to walk. When you see headlines saying Kanye’s crazy — one in three African Americans are in jail and all the celebrities are in jail also because they can’t say nothing, they got no opinion, they’re so scared!”

Of course, this is all probably just publicity for his next album “God’s Country” that has been recently announced.

Kanye also announced his intentions to become President back in 2015 during the MTV VMAS.

It’s worth noting that this all is probably a publicity stunt for his upcoming album “God’s Country” which was announced earlier this week.
