It’s hard to complain about your job when you get paid to write things on the internet but that doesn’t mean there aren’t days where I ponder doing something different with my life after getting chirped with a comment that hit a little too close to home.
On days like those, I think back to the many stories that we’ve covered here about dream jobs that some people would literally kill for, whether we’re talking about getting a bottomless sneaker allowance, making more than $100,000 to review resorts, or getting paid to eat pizza.
Now, another contender has entered the fray in the form of Hush Hush, a website catering to people with more money than you have that is searching for a new employee willing to shoulder the laborious and arduous task of reviewing luxury yachts.
Here’s the job description:
[Y]ou’ll live, sleep, eat and shower on a yacht for a week, but during that week, we’ll need you to test everything on the yacht. This means every plug socket, door, bed, shower, tap – everything to make sure that the yacht is up to our standards.
I can’t tell you what the interview process is like but I can tell you the application won’t require you to rework your résumé. Assuming you’re at least 21, all you need is a passport, a flexible schedule, and the ability to write good like me in order to earn up to $65,000 a year if you manage to review 50 yachts.
Knowledge of yachts is understandably a plus, and while they didn’t mention these specifically, I assume they’ll also be taking all of these factors into consideration:
- An appreciation for the music of Michael McDonald
- An affinity for white blazers
- Knows a guy
- Willingness to grow a killer but classy mullet
If you think you meet the criteria, you can apply here.
Smooth…sailing, everyone.
Bon voyage.
