- Leonardo DiCaprio made an appearance at the NFC Championship game on Sunday.
- Chris “Mad Dog” Russo bizarrely had an issue with DiCaprio being at the game.
- Russo also hilariously seems to think that his name is “Leonard” DiCaprio.
Long before Stephen A. Smith and First Take were the faces of sports media hot takery, there was Mike and the Mad Dog.
Airing on New York City’s WFAN radio from 1989 to 2008, Mike and the Mad Dog featured the uniquely bloviated personalities of Mike Francesa and Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo arguing about all of the biggest topics in sports and helped usher in the current landscape of sports media as we know it.
Despite having been on the air for over three decades now, “Mad Dog” Russo remains as gonzo and committed as he always was, as he recently unleashed a rant about “Leonard” DiCaprio — yes, LEONARD — being at the NFC Championship game between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

And here’s the thing about Russo, who I’ve been listening to virtually my entire life here in New York City: this is not a bit. He must genuinely believe that Leonardo’s name is Leonard.
Given the insane prices of Super Bowl tickets, Russo better start wrapping his head around the idea that the big game is going to be filled with celebrities such as Leonard DiCaprio.
Super Bowl LVI, which will take place at SoFi Stadium in California on Sunday, February 13, will feature Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals taking on Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams. At the time of this writing, the Rams are currently four-point favorites over the Bengals.
