Mark Zuckerberg is not a very common name. Most people have only heard of one Mark Zuckerberg – the CEO of Meta. However, there is at least one other Mark Zuckerberg and he is a bankruptcy attorney in Indianapolis. And he is tired of the company founded by his namesake, Facebook, shutting down his accounts. So Mark Zuckerberg has filed a lawsuit against Mark Zuckerberg. Seriously.

According to WTHR News, attorney Mark Zuckerberg filed a lawsuit against Meta, the parent company of Facebook, for negligence and breach of contract. The reason for the lawsuit? Because Facebook keeps shutting down his accounts for “impersonating a celebrity.” Namely, one Mark Steven Zuckerberg.

Mark Zuckerberg has had it with Mark Zuckerberg

“And using a false name!” attorney Mark Elliot Zuckerberg told WTHR News. “Which I’ve had way longer than he has. I’ve got better things to do than sue Facebook. They have more money and more lawyers and more resources than I do. I’d rather not pick a fight with them, but I don’t know how else to make them stop!”

The attorney says that while many people find it amusing, “It’s not funny. Not when they take my money.” His business account has been shut down five times and his personal account four times over the past eight years. He says Facebook has apologized numerous times for the mistake, but it keeps happening anyway.

“I did everything they asked me to do, like I always do. They ask you to appeal if you think your suspension is not proper,” he said. “I filed the proper appeals with them the very next day and I’ve heard nothing from them and it’s been four months. The last time they did it, it was over six months before they turned my account back on. So I don’t know how else to get their attention. For somebody who purports to be one of the leading tech companies in the world, and they can’t stop doing this? And they can’t seem to get their appeal process to work? I think they have a problem.”

Guess what? Facebook did it again

As of the WTHR News report updated on Sept. 4, his business Facebook account was suspended. It’s been that way for four months.

Since that report, a Facebook spokesperson told Gizmodo, “We have reinstated Mark Zuckerberg’s account, after finding it had been disabled in error. We appreciate Mr. Zuckerberg’s continued patience on this issue and are working to try and prevent this from happening in the future.”

But did they apologize? Again?

“If he wants to fly here personally and say ‘I’m sorry,’ or maybe let me spend a week on his boat to say I’m sorry, I’d probably take him up on that,” attorney Mark Zuckerberg said about the Facebook founder.
