‘Calling The Police For Taking Some Food Outside Is Crazy’: Indiana Woman Travels 11 Hours For All-You-Can-Eat Chick-fil-A In Oklahoma. Is It Worth It?

Chick-fil-A is the reigning champ (11 years in a row) when it comes to customer satisfaction in the quick-service restaurant industry.

That data comes directly from the American Customer Satisfaction Index. As a beloved fast-food chain in the U.S., customers will travel far and wide just to get their hands on it.

One woman from Indiana traveled 11 hours to Oklahoma for some Chick-fil-A. That’s because the University of Oklahoma houses the only all-you-can-eat Chick-fil-A in the world.

About The All-You-Can-Eat Chick-fil-A

This buffet-style Chick-fil-A opened its doors at the University of Oklahoma’s Couch Restaurants in 2005. In addition to Chick-fil-A, this cafeteria offers 13 other options and is the largest cafeteria on the school’s campus. The school prides itself on having the only Chick-fil-A buffet worldwide.

Its website reads, “Couch Restaurants is home to the only all-you-care-to-eat Chick-fil-A in the world! Get the sandwiches, nuggets, and waffle fries you love right here.”

Students can indulge in as much food as they desire for free if they have their meal card and student ID on hand. Meanwhile, the general public must pay $14 for breakfast, $16 for lunch and dinner, and $18 for “special dinners.”

We don’t quite know what “special dinners” entail, but we’ve reached out to the University of Oklahoma via press email to find out more.

Woman Tries Out The Buffet

Popular TikTok creator Madison (@ugh_madison) often tests out if all-you-can-eat buffets are as endless as they say they are. In the past, she’s been booted from establishments for staying too long.

In her latest installment, she takes 1.3 million viewers on an adventure to Oklahoma State University’s campus. “I got here at 11 and paid $16 for all-you-can-eat Chick-fil-A,” she starts her video.

Then, she shows off the inside of the cafeteria.

“As you can see, there’s no price tags and no cash registers,” she says, referencing a digital menu with only pictures on it. “You’re allowed to get one entree, one side, and one sauce packet at a time. After you’re done with your food, you can come back up and get another meal.”

Throughout her time there, she enjoys crispy chicken sandwiches, a grilled chicken sandwich, chicken nuggets, several orders of fries, and something called a “birthday cake chicken sandwich.”

Of course, there are exceptions to the buffet.

“If you get caught taking Chick-fil-A outside the building, you will be reported to the police,” she says, revealing the warning posted on the wall.

“As an all-you-can-eat facility, products are not allowed to be taken outside the dining hall. Violations of posted University Policies may be referred to the Office of Student Conduct and the University of Oklahoma Police,” the sign reads in black font.

Several consequences include written and verbal warnings, disciplinary probation, and even expulsion, according to the university’s website.

While eating her Birthday Cake Chicken Sandwich, Madison felt she needed to pick up the pace. “I need to get off my tushy and lock in. I drove 11 hours to come to this Chick-fil-A, I have to eat $113 worth of food to break even,” she explains.

According to the on-screen text, she dropped $97.26 on gas and $16 on the admission, bringing her total to $113.26.

Did Madison Achieve Her Goal?

There were several roadblocks preventing her from meeting her goal. “Every time I wanted to get another meal, I had to wait over 20 minutes in line,” she says, showing the long lines in front of her.

So she improvised. She says, “I tried multitasking and started eating my food while I wait in line.”

Madison sadly doesn’t achieve her goal. However, she remained optimistic. “After driving halfway across the country, standing in line for two and a half hours, and spending $16 on this buffet, I’m proud to say that I ate $38.17,” Madison declares with a thumbs up.

In the caption, she asks viewers for their opinion. She questions, “I went to the world’s only all you can eat chick-fil-a! Did I get my $16 worth?”

What Did Viewers Think?

Because a meal from Chick-fil-A can easily exceed $10, many viewers agreed she did get a bang for her buck.

“That’s honestly a good deal considering one meal is like $14 … dollars,” one viewer with a comment over 30k likes wrote.

“What a steal. I would eat the whole sauce with fries,” a second concurred.

However, some felt disappointed by Madison’s outcome.

“All this build up for $38?” one asked.

“$38 dollars? I don’t think so,” another remarked.

Meanwhile, the “no taking food outside” policy was the focus for others.

“Calling the police for taking some food outside is crazy,” a commenter said.

“What will the cops do?” another questioned.
