While Pedro Pascal has been playing The Mandalorian for a few years now, that doesn’t mean the job has become any easier.
Granted, while playing Din Djarin has been a life-changing role for the 47-year-old former Game of Thrones star, it also sounds like it can be quite a pain in the ass considering the amount of gear required to play the character.
During a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Pascal hilariously detailed what it’s like wearing Mando’s suit and proclaimed that he “can’t see s**t.”
“It’s like putting on a head-to-toe glove with weights on it. It’s ironic that you can’t see any facial expression because it puts you in the world so completely, and instantly makes the character feel real, but you can’t see s**!”
“They’ve continued to finesse and make it more comfortable, but it’s like going blind. Your breath completely fogs up the narrow slit that you can see through. There’s no peripheral vision. If there’s a hole, I’m going to fall into it.” [via Empire Magazine]
Given how cumbersome the Mandalorian armor suit is, Pascal’s comments certainly aren’t very surprising. What he’s not mentioning, of course — and why the role was likely so appealing — is that he probably doesn’t have to wear it all that often, as it’s likely some sort stuntman under there most of the time.
It’s not long now until fans will get to see Pascal traveling the galaxy with his pal Grogu again, as season three of The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, March 1. The first two seasons of the series are currently streaming on Disney+, in addition to shows such as The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Andor.
In addition to Pascal, season three of The Mandalorian — which first premiered back in 2019 — will star Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Weathers, Katee Sackhoff, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Amy Sedaris, Christopher Lloyd, and Tim Meadows.
