Former Saturday Night Live star and actor Pete Davidson has hit out at people who have turned against Pedro Pascal since becoming a massive star. Pascal has starred in three noteworthy movies this year: Eddington, Materialists, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, in addition to the second season of HBO’s The Last of Us.
Given the Pete Davidson knows a thing or two about attentions from both the media and fans alike, it should come as no surprise that the actor and comedian was quick to defend Pascal, who has become one of the biggest starts in the world in recent years.
Davidson’s main point is that Pedro Pascal has been working his way up the Hollywood ranks for 30 years now and deserves a bit of grace as he adjusts to this new level of fame.
Ever since featuring in the fourth season of Game of Thrones, Pascal has been on a steady rise up Hollywood’s A-list thanks to his roles in projects such as Narcos, The Mandalorian, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, The Equalizer 2, If Beale Street Could Talk, Triple Frontier, Wonder Woman 1984, and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.
Pete Davidson rips people for turning on Pedro Pascal after he became famous
“F—— two years ago he’s a hardworking, great actor. Everyone was like, ‘He’s worked so hard and has been a struggling actor.’ F—— blows up so f—— hard. Everyone’s like, ‘Daddy, daddy! Yeah, daddy, daddy.’ Then a year later, he’s in everything now because he’s hot and big and everyone’s like, ‘Go the f— away, dude,'” Davidson said on Theo Vonn’s podcast.
“It’s also just like, you got to give someone time to adjust to that new level of fame. He’s been banging at it for 30 years and now he’s like he’s learning how to go get a cup of coffee or like deal with someone that taps you on the shoulder while you have your earbuds in and freaks you out. You got to give that guy a f—— second to, like, adjust… It’s like we build everybody up. It’s, like, so fast to turn [on the celebrity].”
Next year, Pascal will again be seen in another pair of massive projects as he’ll be starring in The Mandalorian & Grogu and Avengers: Doomsday.
