In case you missed it, and how could you have, the MTV Movie & TV Awards aired Monday night. Jada Pinkett Smith won the Trailblazer Award. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson won the Generation Award. And host Zachary Levi won the most awkward, cringe-worthy, yet hilarious, opnening monologue joke award.*
As the Shazam star was rolling through listing some of the stars that were in attendance, he decided to point out that VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood stars Ray J and his wife Princess Love were in the house.
“America’s other sweetheart is here,” Levi told the audience. “Ray J from Love & Hip Hop is here.”
Acknowledging the nice shout-out, Ray J stood up to cheers from the audience as the camera zoomed in on him.
However, he then quickly sat down, looking dumbfounded, when Levi added, “Although I’m sure some of you are more familiar with his work as a cameraman.”

Needless to say, Ray J’s wife Princess Love was not impressed, flashing the double-bird to Levi and the camera.
“I’m sorry, collectively it was a great idea,” Levi said, trying to defend himself.

On a brighter, well, less cringey, note, Levi also performed in an excellent Game of Thrones parody skit where he put his own unique spin on Conleth Hill’s Varys.
