Seth Meyer’s “Day Drinking” segment on Late Night with Seth Meyers is one of the best bits on late-night television, and the latest edition just so happened to feature one of the funniest people alive: Seinfeld and Veep icon Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
While Julia Louis-Dreyfus perhaps didn’t get as drunk as some of Meyers’ past guests — i.e., Dua Lipa having to be taken out of the bar in a wheelchair — Meyers certainly did, leading to him revealing the most offensive joke that he wishes he could’ve gotten on the long-running Saturday Night Live segment Weekend Update.
“Tell me a Late Night or Weekend Update joke you loved but couldn’t do it because it was too offensive,” JLD prompts Meyers.
A clearly drunk Meyers says that a few come to mind before launching into his choice (not without stumbling his way through the intro, though).
“A man in Washington State was recently arrested for animal cruelty after he was caught having sex with the family dog. Even worse, it was makeup sex,” Meyers said.
Meyers was a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 2001 to 2014, and worked as the show’s head writer from 2006 to 2014. Meyers also hosted the Weekend Update segment from 2006 to 2014.
As for Louis-Dreyfus, who recently made headlines for her rebuke of Jerry Seinfeld’s assessment of political correctness in comedy, she’s promoting the release of her new A24 film Tuesday, which was released in theaters on Friday, June 7.
