Snoop Dogg, the rapper behind songs such as “Murder Was the Case,” “Serial Killa,” and “Pimp Slapp’d”, says he’s now afraid of movie theaters because of Disney. The Pixar film that’s shaken Snoop to his core? Lightyear.

During a recent interview, the 53 year old pop cultural fixture says he’s now “scared” of movie theaters because of the Mouse House.

According to Snoop, the inclusion of a same-sex marriage in the 2022 film Lightyear has remained on his mind ever since. In Lightyear — a spinoff of the Toy Story franchise about the real astronaut that inspired the Buzz Lightyear toy — there is a montage in which two mothers are seen raising their child.

Lightyear is one of many recent disappointments for Pixar, as it made $226 million at the global box office against a $200 million budget.

The Pixar movie Lightyear has left Snoop Dogg ‘scared’ of movie theaters

“They’re like, ‘She had a baby — with another woman.’ Well, my grandson, in the middle of the movie is like, ‘Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman!’” Snoop said on the It’s Giving podcast.

“Oh s—, I didn’t come in for this s—. I just came to watch the goddamn movie.’” His grandson continued to double down on what he saw: “‘They just said, she and she had a baby — they’re both women. How does she have a baby?’”

“It f—– me up. I’m like, scared to go to the movies. Y’all throwing me in the middle of shit that I don’t have an answer for… It threw me for a loop. I’m like, ‘What part of the movie was this?’ These are kids. We have to show that at this age? They’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answer.”

Lightyear starred Chris Evans in the lead voice role of Buzz Lightyear alongside Keke Palmer, Peter Sohn, Taika Waititi, Dale Soules, James Brolin, and Uzo Aduba.

The irony of Snoop Dogg — a former gangsta rapper who came up during the peak era of “parents panicking about what kind of art their kids consume” — now being afraid of Disney movies because of a wordless montage about a lesbian couple can best be summarized with Harvey Dent’s iconic The Dark Knight: “You either die as one of the hardest rappers of all time or live long enough to see yourself get triggered by a cartoon,”… or something like that.
