Taylor Swift appeared on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s and his brother Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast and broke all sorts of records. At the time of this writing, less than 24 hours since its release, Swift’s appearance on New Heights has over 10 million views on YouTube alone, making it the most watched episode of the popular show yet.
While much of the coverage has been centered around Taylor Swift announcing her new album The Life of a Showgirl or her apparent genuine football knowledge, one of the more underrated blurbs from the conversation saw the mega-famous pop star concede that her fan base can display “Zodiac killer”-like tendencies, particularly as it relates to investigating apparent Easter Eggs.
You certainly don’t need to look far to see what Swift is talking about, as that obsession has been on full display in recent days as her fans attempt to decode any and all meaning behind the shapes, colors, track titles, photos and so on from her The Life of a Showgirl announcement — with one of the most bizarre examples being an obsession with her use of the number 47.
Swift did take responsibility for the phenomenon, though, adding that she herself is consumed by Easter eggs and numerology when it comes to communicating with her fanbase.

Taylor Swift says the whole culture of easter eggs surrounding her work has become a bit “Zodiac killer”
“The easter egg thing is a bit zodiac killer at this point,” Swift admitted during the podcast. “I have parameters. There’s dos and donts. I don’t do an Easter egg that ties to my personal life. It points to my music…it’s something you don’t know why I’m saying for a specific reason, but then you’ll look back and go ‘oh my god.’”
“I put so many lyrical easter eggs in that speech that when the ‘Midnights’ album came out after that, the fans were like ‘The whole speech was an easter egg.’ And that for me is really fun because they find it fun. I love numerology, I love math stuff, I love dates, that stuff I find really fun.”
The Life of a Showgirl, Swift’s 12th studio album, will b released on Friday, October 3, with Swift saying she wrote the record while on the European leg of her record-smashing The Eras Tour last year.
