Taylor Swift’s alleged stalker, Brian Jason Wagner, the subject of a restraining order filed by the singer, has gone missing, according to a private investigator. Wagner, 45, allegedly first began appearing uninvited at Swift’s Los Angeles home in July 2024 and continued to do so for almost a year.
In addition to showing up at Swift’s home at least three times in that first month, Wagner also claimed to be in a relationship with her, calling himself Brian Jason Wagner-Swift on social media.
“During each of these visits, I am informed that Mr. Wagner made various statements about living at my property (not true), being in a relationship with me (not true), believing I am the mother of his son (not true), and needing to see me in person, all of which are untrue and disconnected from reality,” Taylor Swift stated in her request for protection from Brian Jason Wagner.
Swift also stated that Wagner sent her staff “hundreds of emails” with “concerning and threatening language.” She also said Wagner “lied to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to somehow change the address on his driver’s license” to her home address. She found this out when the license was delivered to her home.
Private investigator can’t locate Brian Jason Wagner
Now, according to private investigator Brooke Berg, who was hired to locate Brian Jason Wagner, he has gone missing. A phone call to him on September 15 using a number she had “previously spoken with him” at went unanswered. Text messages to remind him of an upcoming hearing also received no reply, she wrote in a court filing.
That court hearing was originally scheduled for September 12, but had to be postponed to provide Swift’s legal team with more time to locate Wagner, according to RadarOnline.com.
Berg, according to court records, tried to contact Wagner via texts, personal service attempts, and stakeouts at multiple residences in June and July. Searches of public databases, social media platforms, proprietary investigator databases, and DMV records looking for an updated address for Wagner also came up empty. As a result, the investigator stated that she believed he was “either transient or actively concealing his whereabouts.”
She did eventually reach him one time in August, but he denied being involved in the case and wouldn’t provide an address, claiming he was homeless. During that conversation, Brian Jason Wagner expressed to her that he was “supposed to live at (Swift’s) house and work for (Swift), but that (Swift) had gotten angry with him and now his life is ruined.”
“[Wagner] initially claimed he was in Beverly Hills, California, but then stated that he recently encountered trouble in Beverly Hills and was no longer there,’ Berg wrote in a court filing, according to DailyMail.com. “Respondent said that he would know by Monday, August 4, 2025, where he would be living, and said that he would call me with an address or a place to meet. He indicated we could call again on August 4, 2025, if we did not hear from him and said that phone number was the best number at which to reach him.”
That was the last time anyone related to the stalking case had any contact with him. He is due to appear in court on Monday, September 22.
