After years of waiting (and multiple delays), we’re just weeks away from the release of the infinitely-hyped Red Dead Redemption 2, which— if early accounts are to be believed— is shaping up to be one of the best video games of all time.
I’ve never preordered something so hard (which you should do if you haven’t yet).
I’ve probably replayed the game’s precursor five times since it was first released, and based on some of the footage I’ve seen so far, Read Dead Redemption 2 is going to absolutely destroy any semblance of a social life I have once it drops on October 26th.
Thankfully, I don’t have much of a social life to begin with, but this one is going to put the nail in the coffin (at least for a little while).
I mean, just look at some of these screenshots.

Hype city.
There are plenty of other video games coming out this month but I don’t know why anyone would even bother.
Based on Rockstar’s track record, it’s not exactly a shocker that the new Red Dead is already garnering heaps of critical praise.
However, that’s far from the only thing they should be lauded for based on what just may be the Feel Good Story of the Week.
According to GamersNet, a terminally-ill Dutch gamer named Jurian recently reached out to Rockstar to see if they could grant him one of his final wishes: to get to play Red Dead Redemption 2 before he passes away.
His father reached out to the company to see if they could make Jurian’s dreams come true, and according to a translation, they stepped up in a big way:
“Rockstar Netherlands was willing to give it but didn’t have the clearance, so they contacted the headquarters who set me up with something nice very quickly.
By the end of the week, two employees from Rockstar Netherlands visited me, who gave me a private demonstration of the game. After an afternoon of playing they sadly took the game back with them.”
It kind of sucks they had to take the game back with them but that doesn’t take away from their awesome gesture.
