Warner Bros.
- The Dark Knight celebrated its 13-year anniversary on July 18.
- Movie fans took to Twitter to celebrate the beloved Batman film.
- Heath Ledger’s Joker performance, as always, was the center of the conversation.
On Sunday, July 18th, The Dark Knight — not only one of the great comic book movies of all-time but frankly, one of the greatest films ever made (at least in the 21st century) — celebrated its 13-year anniversary (!), leading movie fans across the globe to hop on social media to pay tribute to the iconic film.
Of course, whenever a conversation around Christopher Nolan’s 2008 Batman epic arises, it usually focuses on the legendary performance of Heath Ledger, a performance that still — to this day — blows peoples’ minds with its unhinged realism and authenticity.
Naturally, as fans celebrated the 13-year anniversary of The Dark Knight’s release, Ledger’s Academy Award-winning performance as Gotham City’s Clown Prince of Crime took center stage.
Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight is brilliant. His performance will be studied for a long time. 📝 https://t.co/ACvZJU0ox6
