Comedian and podcaster Theo Von has called out the United States Department of Homeland Security for using his likeness in a video on social media. Von asked them to both take the video down and pay him for it.

Theo Von is one of the faces of the podcast space that has helped President Trump achieve popularity with young men in the United States and even attended the inauguration earlier this year.

Despite this, however, Von was quick to call out the Department of Homeland Security for featuring him in, as Von called it, their “banger deportation video.”

“Yooo DHS i didnt approve to be used in this. I know you know my address so send a check. And please take this down and please keep me out of your ‘banger’ deportation videos. When it comes to immigration my thoughts and heart are alot more nuanced than this video allows. Bye!” Von tweeted.

During the 2024 election, Von had President Trump on his guest as a podcast, where a clip of Von describing to the infamously sober Trump what doing cocaine feels like.

“Cocaine will turn you into a damn owl, homie — you know what I’m saying?” Von said. “You’ll be out on your own porch. You’ll be your own streetlamp.”

Earlier in the week, the Department of Homeland Security also came under fire for using Pokemon’s intellectual property in one of their videos. Pokemon is partially owned by Nintendo, which is a famously litigious company that’s obsessed with protecting the image of their brand.

“We are aware of a recent video posted by the Department of Homeland Security that includes imagery and language associated with our brand. Our company was not involved in the creation or distribution of this content, and permission was not granted for the use of our intellectual property,” The Pokemon Company said in a statement.
