While TikTok has become the go-to repository of all the things we need to know in the world, there occasionally are things that appear on the social media platform that are simply not true.
I know. I don’t know where to turn for the truth anymore either.
Then again, it’s amazing what a little common sense will do to help a person avoid these pitfalls.
For example, a woman named Dakota Fink posted a video this week to TikTok that has now been viewed almost 14 MILLION times on TikTok and over 3 MILLION times on Twitter with the caption, “How did they not know this wtf??”
In her TikTok video, Fink harkens back, with a completely straight face, mind you, to a time when “men didn’t know we had to peel off layers of our skin after our period.”
Think about that for a second. I’ll wait while you digest that statement.
Okay then, please tell me your reaction to that was along the lines of “Women peel their skin off? That’s not a real thing that happens.”
Because there were actually a slew of guys (and a whole bunch of woman as well) who, with a little help from Fink’s female viewers, actually believed her.
@dfinkk How did they not know this wtf ?? ##fyp
The reason so many people believed her is because her viewers, both on TikTok and on Twitter were dropping comments like “Thank you so much for normalizing this!!” and “I still remember how scared I was when I had to peel it for the first time.”
I was peeling a little too much, and my face started to become raw, so I had to stay away from the sun and sleep sitting up because it would sting when I was lying on my pillow for a long time, but I went to my doctor, and they gave me some medicine, and it started to heal fast

for everyone saying theirs hasn’t started peeling yet: everyone’s body is different so of course we all wouldn’t start at the same age. kinda like how we don’t get our periods at the same age. mine started peeling at 17 while my friend’s started peeling this year at 24.

In all seriousness, you really need to go look at this entire Twitter thread. It’s 100 percent straight entertainment.
