A man was shopping at Walmart when he spotted an affordable off-brand version of Busch Light. He decided that the moment called for a public service announcement.

TikTok user Robert (@robert_manning) did this service to the beer community in a video posted this week. The video shows a display of Brewmasters Premier Light Beer, which is advertised as tasting “clean with medium grapefruit tones, light hop flavors, and very mild bitterness.”

“For all you cheap b——- that drink Busch Light, this is Walmart’s version of Busch Light for $12,” he says.

The Walmart listing compares it to Keystone Light Beer ($19.27 for a 30 pack), Coors Light American Lager Beer ($18.67 for a 15-pack), and Busch Light American Lager ($19.27 for a 30-pack).

When it comes to Mexican-style Lager, Brewmasters Golden Lager Cerveza ($19.87 for a 24-pack) is clearly aimed at competing with Modelo Especial Mexican Lager ($27.17 for a 24-pack).

Viewers React To The Brewmasters Price Point

In the comments, some viewers reacted to the news with nothing short of glee. “Looks like we are a country again,” wrote one person.

“I ain’t gonna complain for a 24 rack for 12 bucks,” wrote a second beer drinker.

“$.50 a can is crazy,” observed a third person. “It’s cheaper to drink than eat.”

Another person echoed that sentiment. “That’s cheaper than water,” they wrote. “What a world we live in.”

Someone else said this is going to change his routine. “I ain’t been in Walmart in 15 years,” they wrote. “That ends today.”

One person, however, wasn’t so optimistic. “It’ll be 20 bucks in six months,” they wrote.

A second pessimist said, “I remember generic beer when it was $2 a case.”

Another person said the beer reminded them of a grim fact. “Great Value beer before Grand Theft Auto 6,” they wrote.

Walmart’s New Brewmasters Premier Light Beer

When the news hit Reddit’s r/Walmart five months ago, users debated whether the beer would be a success or “flop” for the corporation.

“Honestly, it’s probably the same exact beer,” predicted one person. “Great Value is always just repackaged major brands.”

“Probably flop,” guessed another. “If the price is right around Miller Lite or Michelob Ultra, it’ll never sell.”

What do you know? So far, the reviews are positive. One shopper even said they think it tastes better than Michelob Ultra. The answer must be in the eye of the beer holder.
