After a year that saw essentially all blockbuster content evaporate, big-budget movies and television series have come roaring back so far this year. Not only have we already gotten WandaVision, but Zack Snyder’s Justice League dropped today, with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier releasing tomorrow. Movie theaters are making their way back, too, as AMC Theaters say 98% of their locations will be open by Friday. Black Widow is currently scheduled to release on May 7, Cruella and A Quiet Place Part II on May 28, and Fast 9 on June 25. Finally, normalcy begins to return.
Speaking of normalcy (hell of a transition here, I know), that’s exactly what Zack Snyder’s Justice League is: normal! It’s a… good movie! Not a masterpiece but above average. And given the lows the original Justice League sunk to, how much more could you ask for?
Fans are obviously reveling in having a movie featuring Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman that isn’t complete garbage, as the reaction on social media has been overwhelmingly positive.

Now if this was the fucking version we woulda got 4 years ago, DC would be in a way better position movie wise. Overall amazing movies and Flash inside of the Speed force turning back time was the highlight for me. #JusticeLeagueSnyderCut #SnyderCut pic.twitter.com/eO5kV8p7TL

Good morning! I stayed up till 8am watching the #SnyderCut Justice League! It was worth every minute. Such an amazing film, it’s such a shame this wasn’t the original film. One of the best comic book movies I’ve ever seen.

One of the best parts of #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague is the fact that we FINALLY got to see these two shine the way they did. Ray and Ezra’s performances without a doubt blew me away pic.twitter.com/2Jazi23coR

While I certainly expected Zack Snyder’s Justice League to be an improvement over the gravely awful Whedon Cut, I’d be lying if I told you I thought the reception to the film would be this positive. The fact that a Zack Snyder movie — a four-hour, R-Rated superhero movie — has nearly an 80% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes is amazing. That’s the highest-rated movie of his career thus far!
