Warner Bros. has found the Cat to Robert Pattinson’s Bat, as Zoe Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road, Big Little Lies) has been cast as Selina Kyle / Catwoman in Matt Reeves’ upcoming Batman solo flick.
Various reports indicate that Kravitz beat out Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver), Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049), and Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels) for the role of Selina Kyle.

The Batman, which sees Pattinson under the iconic cape and cowl for the first time following his succession of Ben Affleck, is set to be “a grounded take with large rogue’s gallery as the antagonists”, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Prior to Kravitz’s casting, Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) was officially cast as Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon.
Around the time of the Wright casting announcement, news broke that Academy Award nominee Jonah Hill (The Wolf of Wall Street) was in talks to star as either Edward Nygma (Riddler) or Oswald Cobblepot (Penguin), although he has yet to officially sign on for any role.
At this time, it is unclear how connected The Batman will be to the larger DCEU, as the smashing success of Joker may force Warner Bros. to further consider moving forward without such an emphasis on a shared universe.
Given Reeves’ pedigree directing heady, intense action films (Cloverfield, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and War for the Planet of the Apes) and the talent that’s been assembled for key roles thus far, fans have plenty of reasons to be excited for The Batman, as it appears that Warner Bros. has *finally* gotten their shit together when it comes to the handling of their DC Comics properties.
The Batman set to be released in theaters in the United States on Friday, June 25, 2021.
