Does your ride-on lawn mower take forever to complete trimming your front yard? Honda’s “Mean Mower” will clip your grass in a blink of an eye, which means more time not mowing your lawn. Honda attempts to reclaim the prestigious title of World’s Fastest Lawn Mower. There’s absolutely no reason for your lawn mower to go that fast, but there’s no reason for your lawn mower to not go that fast.
In 2014, Honda earned the title of World’s Fastest Lawn Mower with the neck-snapping speed of 116.57 mph. The following year, some Norwegians snatched the title from Honda. Now Honda is back with a vengeance in an effort to reclaim the title of World’s Fastest Lawn Mower. Honda announced that they are rejuvenating their Mean Mower and expect their modified mower to reach speeds of at least 134 mph. The perfect lawnmower for the situation when your girl invites you over, you say you have to mow the lawn and she entices you by saying, “My parents aren’t home.” Zooooooooom. Lawn mowed.
In a Frankenstein-like experiment, Honda transplanted the engine from their CBR1000RR Fireblade SP superbike into a lawnmower. This supercharged lawn mower boasts 405-horsepower from a V-8 engine and pumps out 189 horsepower, 13,000 rpm, and 106 pound-feet of torque. All this power equates to a lawnmower that travels at least 134 mph. Honda’s 2014 Mean Mower had a top speed of 116 mpg, but that’s old news and they attempt to blast past that figure. Honda Civics don’t even hit those speeds. Honda has yet to announce a date to unveil their Mean Mower V2, but it is expected to be epic when they do and you’ll be able to mow your entire block in less than 12 minutes.
