In what sounds like an updated version of Pimp My Ride, you’ll soon be able to play classic Atari games in your Tesla vehicle. “Yo dawg, I heard you like old school video games, so we put a $38 Atari emulator in your $80,000 Tesla Model X.”
Within a month, Tesla will release V9.0, the latest over-the-air software update to their infotainment system for the Model 3, the Model S, and the Model X. Tesla CEO said that one of the new features will be offering Atari video games that you can play in the touchscreen.
Some of best classic @Atari games coming as Easter eggs in Tesla V9.0 release in about 4 weeks. Thanks @Atari!

Musk didn’t reveal all of the games that will be available, but did acknowledge that Pole Position will be one of the games. For our younger readers, Pole Position is a 1982 Atari game from Namco that is one of the first racing video games ever released.

Musk revealed that you’ll be able to play Pole Position with the actual vehicle’s steering wheel. Musk stressed that the racing game use with the steering wheel will only be available when the car is parked.
Musk added that he hopes to add other early ’80s video games such as Tempest and Missile Command (IMHO Tempest is a garbage game).
Hoping to include last three in this release, with pole position linked to actual car steering wheel (while stationary tbc haha)

Elon Musk really did just steal Xzibit’s deal. Musk also tweeted out a job offer to video game developers to create games for Tesla. This really isn’t any less wacky than the $1,500 Tesla surfboard that sold out in a day.
If you’re into video game development, consider applying to Tesla. We want to make super fun games that integrate the center touch screen, phone & car irl.

It is not known if any modern or in-house games will be available for the V9.0 update. BUT WILL IT HAVE DIG DUG?
