Every once in a while, I need to post heartwarming stories about bears because bears get a bad rap. Seriously, think about it. When you see a story about a bear it’s always like, “bear mauls hiker” or “bears steal picnic basket” or “bear kills Lou Avery.”
I’m done with the bear shaming people. Stop it.
This morning on the Today show, I saw a video of a mama bear rescuing her baby from a busy highway. It made me feel all tingly inside.
Here’s my thing with this video and animals in general. Like, why do you gotta use your mouth to pick up the kid? You have functional arms right? Your fingers aren’t broken, they’re capable of grabbing things, no? So, um, why not? The whole “put baby in mouth” to protect is kind of nonsense.
Someone needs to alert the animal kingdom about this bullshit.
