Son Of Sinaloa Drug Cartel Leader Escapes From Prison

Wanna hear a joke?

Mexican prisons.

That’s it. That’s the punchline.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. Cartel members escape a Mexican prison and nobody has a clue how it happened.

The most recent prison break happened on Thursday at the Culiacan prison and the authorities still do not know how it went down. Ummm, the cartel paid off the guards and they had an “ooopsie” moment and “forgot” to lock his cell door and they all went to lunch?

Five members of the Sinaloa cartel including Juan Jose Esparragoza Monzon AKA “El Negro,” the son of Juan Jose Esparragoza Moreno known as “El Azul,” escaped the prison. His father is a top leader of the Sinaloa gang along with Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman and Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada (For the English-speaking readers, “El Mayo” is the weakest, but most delicious on a sandwich cartel leader nickname).

Juan Jose Esparragoza Monzon was arrested on January 19 and is suspected of running a drug distribution network and managing cartel finances.

Despite being high-profile cartel members, there were judicial orders to halt their transfer to a maximum-security prison. Hmmmm.

Culiacan is the capital city of the Sinaloa State.

Monzon’s father is partners with Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, who knows a thing or two about busting out of jail. El Chapo escaped two maximum-security facilities while in Mexico. Guzman was extradited to the U.S. earlier this year. El Chapo has complained that the accommodations in New York City are “too restrictive.”

C’mon guys, you really have to remember to lock the cells to major crime members.
