There were initial reports by the Independent and Britain’s Channel 4 News claiming that Abu Izzadeen is the terrorist behind the attacks in London on Tuesday. New reports are claiming that the attacker was a middle-aged Asian man, and Abu Izzadeen is currently in jail. More on that update below.
Channel 4 News says it has confirmed the attacker was Trevor Brooks aka Abu Izzadeen, well known to the security services and the media.

He looked suspiciously similar to Abu Izzadeen, a well-known British hate preacher.

Everything We Know About Deadly London Terrorist Attack Including Moment Gunfire Erupts
From Wikipedia:
Abu Izzadeen, born Trevor Brooks, is a British spokesman for Al Ghurabaa, a British Muslim organization banned under the Terrorism Act 2006 for the glorification of terrorism. He was convicted on charges of terrorist fund-raising and inciting terrorism overseas on 17 April 2008, and sentenced to four and a half years in jail. He was released in May 2009, after serving three and a half years, including time on remand.
Izzadeen and another man were supposed to be jailed in January after a “serious and deliberate” breach of counter-terrorism restrictions. The duo were extradited to the U.K. after they were arrested in Turkey on a train bound for Bucharest, Romania, last November. Izzadeen and Simon Keele were to notify authorities three days in advance of any overseas travel under Part 4 of the Counter Terrorism Act 2008, but failed to do so. They were both sentenced to two years in prison.
Izzadeen’s alleged Twitter account is suspended.
Back in March of 2015, Izzadeen gave an interview with Vice News where he condemned any unbelievers in Islam and said murder was not the worst crime, “worst thing is to disbelieve in God.” He also said that “all those who are in the Parliament are apostates.”
UPDATE: Izzadeen’s solicitor is saying his client was still in jail and is not the attacker.
Several media outlets are claiming London killer is Abu Izzadeen, but his solicitor has confirmed he is still in jail.
