In case you missed it, and how dare you if you did, Aaron Rodgers made his triumphant return to The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday. Many topics were covered, including one in which the former New York Jets quarterback expressed surprise at the notion that people think he is “desperate for attention.”
Seriously. There’s video.
“Obviously, I went out to Pittsburgh and tried to do that as quietly as possible,” Rodgers informed Pat McAfee and his crew. “You know, a lot of people think that I’m desperate for attention even though I haven’t talked to you or anybody else in three months.”
That’s right. Aaron Rodgers tried to that as quietly as possible by flying into an airport near Pittsburgh, but not in Pittsburgh, then renting a Chevy Malibu and driving to meet the Steelers wearing a ball cap pulled down over a pair of sunglasses. He’s like a media ninja, this guy.
“I flew into a different airport,” he admitted. “I got a Malibu rental car. Drove the Malibu rental car to the facility, to the backside practice field. Got let in the practice field.
“And then somebody in the building must have said something. And when I came out there was, like, some cameras that were pointed. But there ain’t no way they thought, ‘This dude is not going to be in a Malibu right now. He’s not going to be in a Malibu rental car, is he?’ So I drove by ’em. They had a really long lens. I was seeing. And [Rodgers’s sister] Mia did a deep dive to see if anybody got a picture. And there was one person who got a picture, and it didn’t go anywhere, of me in the Malibu. But that was fun to kind of sneak in, sneak out.”
What more proof do you people need? He’s so lowkey it hurts.
Oh yeah, also during the interview, Aaron Rodgers let slip that he is “in a serious relationship.” He didn’t say with who or anything, but there is little doubt that his comment didn’t immediately send a few dozen internet sleuths on fire trying to figure it out. But totally, Aaron Rodgers is not desperate for attention.
So, how many months do you think he will drag out this “is he or is he not going to play next season” drama? Not for attention, but just because of some reason that is certainly very important.
