Despite being 41-years-old and not looking like his future Hall of Fame self for a few years now, Aaron Rodgers’ ego remains as big as ever. According to reports, the free agent QB wants the Pittsburgh Steelers to “roll out the red carpet” for him.

Following his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show last week — in which he spent much of his airtime airing his grievances with the New York Jets, particularly the new regime of head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Moughy, for the way in which he handled his release — Aaron Rodgers’ future still isn’t any clearer.

Despite the length of his televised therapy session, Aaron Rodgers did not seem any closer to committing to playing next season, and perhaps now we know why.

According to The Athletic writer Michael Silver, Rodgers wants the Steelers, seemingly his only remaining suitor, to give him the red-carpet treatment.

“The second thing Davante told me was, I think Aaron wants someone to roll out the red carpet for him. That is what he is looking for. I’m not sure if he would consider the Steelers doing that right now. I’m not positive how Aaron perceives that or how the Steelers perceive that,” NFL insider Michael Silver said on The Athletic’s Scoop City podcast.

During the 2024 season as the starting quarterback of the New York Jets, Rodgers had a passer rating of 90.5 with 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while leading Gang Green to a disappointing 5-12 record, leading to the firing of head coach Robert Saleh, general manager Joe Douglas and eventually Rodgers himself.
