In an upcoming unauthorized biography about the 40-year-old New York Jets quarterback, Aaron Rodgers admits that he regrets how he handled his 2021 immunization controversy.

According to Aaron Rodgers — speaking to Ian O’Connor, who authored the upcoming bio Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers — he says his “immuization” ruse was the “one thing I wish could have gone different.”

Rodgers, however, does not regret how he handled things because he misled the public, but rather, because “that’s the only thing [critics] could hit me with.”

“If I could do it again, I would have said [in August], f— the appeal. I’m just going to tell them I’m allergic to PEG, I’m not getting Johnson & Johnson, I’m not going to be vaxxed,'” Rodgers said.

Rodgers said that his “immunization” statement “represented his appeal to the league,” according to ESPN.

“I had an immunization card from my holistic doctor, which looked similar. I wasn’t trying to pawn it off as a vaccine card, but I said, ‘Listen, here’s my protocol. Here’s what you can follow to look this up.’ And it was an ongoing appeal,” he explains.

“So, if I had just said [I was unvaccinated] in the moment, there’s no chance that the appeal would have been handled the exact same way.”

In the years since Rodgers has continued to lean into the persona he began cultivating in 2021 and is now one of the most controversial players in the National Football League.

Over the last year or so, for example, Rodgers has been a public proponent of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in the 2024 Presidential Election — reports earlier this year even indicated that Rodgers was being considered as a potential VP pick for Kennedy in his flailing bid for the White House.

In recent weeks, RFK Jr. has been accused of sexual assault, eating dog meat, and admitted to being responsible for driving a dear bear and leaving it in Central Park to create a staged bicycle accident in 2014.

Rodgers and the New York Jets will kick off their 2024 campaign with a Monday Night Football matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on September 9. Gang Green and their fans will certainly hope that this year is more successful than last, as Rodgers — following a couple of years of touting alternative medicine and “doing your own research” — tore his Achilles after just four snaps last season.
