The world continues to wait for Aaron Rodgers to make his decision about whether he’ll spend next season retired, with the Green Bay Packers, or with another organization. While that decision will reportedly come “soon” (whatever that means), football fans are left to speculate about what his decision will actually be.

Just about every report we hear changes where everybody thinks Rodgers will end up. There have been coaching moves by the Packers and Denver Broncos that seemed like they were intended to attract Rodgers. There have been quotes and Instagram posts that have been interpreted as indications of his intentions.

Now we have another report that could tell us a lot about where Rodgers’ head is at as he makes this decision. According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, Aaron Rodgers wants a massive raise to make him the highest paid QB in football. The number he is reportedly looking for would be somewhere around $50 million, which would be a big jump from his current $33.5 million per year.

This salary request would really complicate the Green Bay Packers’ efforts to bring Rodgers back for another season. The Packers have opened up some cap space this week by restructuring the contracts of Kenny Clark and Aaron Jones, but they are still well over the cap right now. They would have a really tough time giving Rodgers this raise and keeping Davante Adams.

You know who could afford this contact, though? The Denver Broncos. It has been heavily speculated that Rodgers could become a Bronco if he leaves the Packers and the Broncos currently have almost $40 million in cap space available. They also have offensive weapons and a strong defense that could entice Rodgers.

At least this report gives us one hint about Rodgers’ decision. If Aaron Rodgers has a salary in mind for the season, it must mean he wants to play football for another year.
