Aaron Rodgers will be back in the Big Apple this fall, and it appears he’ll be a man on an absolute mission come football season. The quarterback took to the podium on Tuesday to discuss both his offseason and upcoming campaign with the media.
Year 1 with the Jets obviously didn’t go according to plan as the passer tore his Achilles tendon on the fourth play of his season. After battling back from injury, he’s ready to show what he can do.
That presence under center was in a bit of doubt earlier this year after reports surfaced that he was being considered as a potential running mate for Presidential candidate Robert Kennedy.
Rodgers says he spurned the opportunity in order to remain the starting signal caller in New York.
“I love Bobby,” he said. “We had a couple really nice conversations, but there were really two options. It was, retire and be his VP, or keep playing. I wanted to keep playing.”

A polarizing sports figure, the quarterback often catches flak for his opinions on conspiracy theories, vaccination status, and mind-altering offseason retreats.
He doesn’t plan to let any of the criticism overshadow the upcoming season.
Aaron Rodgers is putting distractions aside in order to prove his doubters wrong.
“I respect others’ opinions, but those are offseason things,” he said of the podcasts and media opportunities explored throughout the year. “Once the season starts, it’s all about football.”
“If I don’t do what I know I’m capable of doing, we’re all probably going to be out of here. I like that kind of pressure, though.”

“If I don’t do what I’m capable of doing, then we’re all probably gonna be out of here. I like that kind of pressure, though…
“As you get older in the league, if you don’t perform, they’re gonna get rid of you. Or bring in the next guy to take your place… I expect to play at a high level.”
Accountability, determination, and focus… What’s not to love?
As Rodgers alluded to, his NFL clock is ticking. Following last year’s injury, he’s returning with one mission in mind – Success!
We’ll see if the offseason confidence translates to the field this fall.
