The Philadelphia Eagles got off to a hot start in their divisional playoff game against the Saints on Sunday by scoring two unanswered touchdowns in the first quarter and silencing the Superdome in the process.
It looked like there was a chance we’d be treated to our second blowout of the day but Philly ran into a bit of an issue when they suddenly forgot how to score.
The Saints would end up taking a 20-14 lead and had a chance to put the game out of reach with a field goal from 52 yards out. However, the Eagles got possession with under three minutes remaining after Will Lutz pushed the kick to the right of the goal post.

With the game on the line, Big Dick Nick Foles stepped up and led his squad down the field to the 26-yard line. It appeared the momentum was on their side but they suffered a minor setback when a pass went through the hands of Alshon Jeffery and into the arms of Marshon Lattimore for a game-sealing interception.

I’m of the opinion it’s stupid to blame a single player for a loss when their team had plenty of other chances to win but Jeffery stepped up and took the blame after the game.

Bears kicker Cody Parkey found himself in a similar position last week when he doinked a last-second field goal (which was actually blocked at the line)— a miss that was particularly ironic when you consider he’d previously practiced hitting kicks off the poles.
On Sunday, Jeffery’s past also came back to haunt him thanks to a comment he made following a game against the Giants earlier this season that turned out to be an absolutely freezing take in hindsight:
“Hands down, I think I’ve got the best hands in the league.”
In the immortal words of Jonah Hill in Superbad: people don’t forget.
Alshon Jeffrey sure does have the best hands in the league… 🤣🤭 pic.twitter.com/QfBUF5MX5K

Maybe he was just referring to his love for manicures.
