Antonio Brown has had one helluva 2019 so far, so it’s only fitting to think that the embattled wide receiver would end the calendar year with a bang, right? After being traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Oakland Raiders, then being released by the Raiders and signing with the New England Patriots — where he played just one game before getting cut again — Brown has since stayed relevant for all the wrong reasons.
The All-Pro wideout has mainly tweeted his way into conversation, but he’s also under investigation by the NFL for unfortunate sexual assault allegations, which a lot of teams are waiting to see what the league uncovers before making a decision to (potentially) sign him. Does that mean Antonio Brown could be in the league again very soon? Well, maybe — and, according to former NFL executive and current ESPN analyst Mike Tannenbaum, a team who might snatch Brown up resides in Dallas.
Talking to Trey Wingo and Mike Golic on their podcast on Tuesday morning, Tannenbaum broached the topic of Antonio Brown signing with the Dallas Cowboys, even going as far as saying he sees it happening before the end of the regular season in order to strengthen the roster for a deep playoff run. Take a look below at Tannenbaum’s reasoning.
“If and when his eligibility is cleared up by the league… I would not be surprised to see Antonio Brown be a Dallas Cowboy between now and the end of the season.”

Now, in that bold statement from Tannenbaum is something interesting, as he pointed out what Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently said after his team’s loss to the Buffalo Bills: that “there aren’t too many things I wouldn’t do financially to win another Super Bowl. I’ll tell you what – it would be something indecent. There isn’t much I wouldn’t do.” If that’s how Jones feels, then Antonio Brown could very well be someone the Cowboys have their sights on.
Of course, all of this hinders on Brown being cleared by the NFL as they investigate the aforementioned sexual assault allegations, but if Jerry’s all for doing whatever it takes, adding Brown would definitely fall under that category. We’ll have to wait and see if this comes to fruition in the next few weeks or not.
