Recruits with the hype Arch Manning don’t come around too often. The Texas-bound Manning, the son of Cooper and nephew of Eli and Peyton Manning, obviously has an elite pedigree. But he has elite skills, too, leading to him being the top recruit in the country this year.
Of course, before he committed to Texas he was recruited as hard as any prospect in the nation. He ended up taking visits to Georiga, Alabama, and Texas before ultimately committing to the Longhorns. Apparently, Texas had to go all-out on Manning’s recruiting visit to land the signal-caller.
Texas spent big bucks on the official visit for Arch Manning
A lot of schools have flashy recruiting visits. But, I’ve never seen anything like this one from Texas for Arch.
In June, Arch Manning made an official visit to Texas, along with 9 others.
The school spent $280,000 in 48 hours, per @TheAthletic:
▪️ Airfare, cars
▪️ 5-star hotel
▪️ Parents' open bar
▪️ Custom cakes
▪️ Topgolf
▪️ An ice sculpture

That is extravagant. But, it’s interesting they decided to do this for Arch Manning instead of someone else. Arch has lived a privileged childhood and none of this stuff is stuff he hasn’t seen before. It must have worked, though, because he committed to Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns three days later.
Twitter reacts to exorbitant vist
Naturally, Twitter was all over this one.
Maybe Arch is just an ice sculpture connoiseour.
I bet the ice sculpture is what did it

@DBT3 says the open bar would’ve sold him.
Open bar for parents? They sure would know how to convince me.
“Son you’re going to be a longhorn!”

Whatever it was that convinced Manning to come to Austin, it worked.
