The opening weekend of college baseball has come and gone and it left a trail of chaos in its path. Not only did multiple top-25 teams get upset, some at home, but a lot of fun was had.

Despite Arkansas fun-hating head coach Dave Van Horn’s wishes, the shenanigans were in full swing. Pun intended.

Among the more savage moments of the weekend, Arizona’s Chase Davis might take the cake. His home run pimp job on Sunday was absolutely vicious.

The Wildcats entered the weekend ranked No. 15 in the country. They traveled south to Texas for the State Farm College Baseball Showdown and proved their ranking to be true.

After beating Kansas State on Friday and Oklahoma on Saturday, Arizona beat No. 14 Texas Tech 13-2 on Sunday. Part of the offensive onslaught came with a two-run blast in the fifth inning.

Sophomore Chase Davis stepped up to the dish and hit his first-career home run a very, very, very, very long way. After getting all of the no-doubter, he stood at the dish and admired his bomb before taking a very, very, very, very long time to get down the first base line.

It was a pimp job and a half.

A slow-motion video of Davis’ showmanship shows just how savage that it really was and, well, it was absolutely ruthless. There was a solid five-count before Davis even thought about jogging around the bases.

People like Davis soaking in every moment of his dinger on Sunday is exactly what makes college baseball so great. The passion is greater, the emotions run higher and lots of fun is had, which is a great thing because fun is fun!
