Auburn basketball is the nation’s top-ranked team and deservedly so. The Tigers reached their program’s first-ever No. 1 ranking earlier this month after going 22-1 to start the year but dropped their second game of 2022 to Arkansas last week.

Prior to the game, Auburn danced on the Razorbacks’ logo at half court. After the huge upset win at home, Arkansas head coach Eric Musselman kept his promise and partied shirtless with the students who stormed the court.

He also gave an electric interview about Auburn’s pregame dance. He and his team took notice of the disrespect.

A few days later, Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl was asked about the pregame dance. He saw nothing wrong with it and fired shots at Arkansas.

His comments were ironic, seeing the difference in logo size between his school and that of the Razorbacks.

After all of the hullabaloo was made about the pregame dance, Auburn threw shade at Arkansas on Saturday. Prior to their home game against Texas A&M, the Tigers gathered on their home logo and did the same dance.

Whether this is something that Auburn has done before every game all season, home or away, it doesn’t really matter. Dancing on an opponent’s logo, although Pearl is right about college kids having fun, is objectively disrespectful. Thus, Musselman’s comments were fair. Something can be both fun and disrespectful.

Dancing on their own logo before Saturday’s game, however, was petty.
