When free agency begins, the #Bucs are expected to target ex-#Rams QB Baker Mayfield as a potential starting QB option, per me and @MikeGarafolo. Although it’s been a rocky career for Baker Mayfield, it seems like he’ll be given another chance to prove himself. His experience on the field makes him an interesting option for a lot of teams.
Especially organizations that would largely benefit from having a bridge quarterback. That’s the type of role we should expect to see for Baker Mayfield moving forward.
It could become a tight race to sign Mayfield this offseason. The Buccaneers aren’t the only team reportedly interested in signing him.
Rumors suggest the San Francisco 49ers could be in play as well, as Brock Purdy’s injury creates problems for the franchise.
With that said, it will be interesting to see how it plays out for Baker Mayfield. If he signs with Tampa Bay, then there’s a chance we’ll see him in the starting lineup once the season starts.
